Aquatic Pennsylvania

Objectives

In this unit, students will identify and describe characteristics in local water environments and be able to explain how living things are dependent on nonliving things in this environment for survival. Students will:

  • examine and explain change through recording observations.

  • identify the lotic and lentic water systems.

  • explain why some water moves and other water does not.

  • identify local fish, insects, and amphibians found in fresh water.

  • identify local plants found in fresh water.

  • identify a local ecosystem and its living and nonliving components.
